A nightspot dedicated to the pursuit of irony as much as the opposite sex, Welcome to the Johnsons is a hipster haven among hipster havens on the Lower East Side. The bar is a meticulous mock-up of a seventies-style suburban rec room, complete with family photographs, worn chairs, pool table, board games, and ludicrously cheap beer. (You won't catch anyone here drinking anything but Pabst Blue Ribbon or neat bourbon whiskey). That potent combination has attracted, at one point or another, just about every young drinker in New York--many of whom spill out onto the sidewalk in the busiest, early evening hours.
