Description:This tour showcases various locations from the troubled life and times of Evelyn Nesbit. Known in her day as the "American Eve", this tantalizing teenage seductress was able to carry on an affair with Stanford White, the most renowned architect of his day. When her husband, Pittsburgh millionaire Harry Thaw killed White in a rage, the "trial of the century ensued", in 1906.
Evelyn Nesbit was the teenager that defined modern beauty at the turn of the century and spent her teen years socializing like a starlet with the greatest patrons of the arts, before becoming embroiled in “the crime of the century,” which would define her adulthood. Evelyn was a teen in a time that, like ours, valued youth and the ability to make free-flowing clothes look gorgeous, and in which teenagers passed as adults in all but experience.
