The name "Chicago" comes from the French interpretation of the Native American word for "wild onion" or "wild garlic". And, while we assure you that the city doesn't reek of onion or garlic, we can't promise you won't get blown around, "The Windy City" being another one of Chicago's names.
Currently, Chicago is the most populated city in the Midwest and the third most populous city in the United States. "The Most American of the Big Cities", Chicago is also a major business and financial hub in the United States.
